In the real estate space it is important to see what my people are Tweeting about. A lot of what I see is “Look At My New Listing on 123 Elm Street” and 10 minutes later “Look at   546 Main Street. Why you may love your new listing and very honestly care about it getting sold. Ask yourself if that is the only thing your clients care about seeing. Maybe they want to know about the good book your are reading, or the interesting film you just saw, or the great restaurant you went to, or where to find the best coffee in the neighborhood. When you tweet about that you build some social capital then in the odd time you do tweet out some listing info someone may actually click on it…possibly because it is just around the corner from the best coffee shop in town.

I have started using TweetDeck to manage all things Twitter related. You can see all the people you follow as well as mentions of your account. You can also setup different search collums search different key words you want to keep track of. As a real estate agent you may want to track all tweets like: Moving to Austin and start following those people to offer your help. Give it a try at TweekDeck.com

Every Realtor needs a good domain name.

You should have www.yourname.com by default but that should not be your only one. Common names like John Smith are not so good as well as hard to spell names should be avoided. Domains should be short memorable and easy to spell. Some of my clients have got great traction with domains like www.homevaluesin(your city).com, propertyvaluesin(your city).com. Or you can even get more local using www.homepricesin(your neighborhood).com. A couple great resources to find a good name with suggestions and variation on your keywords are: https://domize.com and http://www.nameboy.com

Buy a few new ones and point them to your site or blog.

Just found this great alternative to PowerPoint. Prezi allows you to create a great looking presentation in minutes. It works on a canvas concept and you can zoom and rotate through your points making it much more visually appealing and interactive.

The web based version is free but if you want it on your desktop you need to buy.
